Description
Written for Anna Norris

This composition is from my trip through Montana, Idaho, Nevada to California and back through Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana in June & July 2018.

This work completed in late October 2018 and are the little pieces I composed on my trip to perform with the Music in the Mountains summer festival orchestra, where I am in my third year as acting principal horn. I have been a participant with MiM since 1992 when the horn section was the same as the Sacramento Symphony horn section, where I was fourth horn full-time. I have slowly risen in the ranks from fourth to principal.

Movement one is a solid introduction type work and will forever remind me never to eat Mexican food in Montana.

Movement two and three were written at my nice "Airbnb" in Grass Valley, California.

Movement four was begun sitting next to the Rogue River in Shady Cove Oregon; a wonderful little town (except the Mexican food) with a great little thrift store.
